You are here for a reason.
Everything about you is for purpose. You are created by purpose, on purpose and for purpose. Your life does have meaning. You are not an accident. I can’t say that I know the intimate details of your inception (we don’t need to go there) but might you have in your mind that you are a mistake, a random occurrence. It may be true that your parents didn’t plan you but God did.
“This is what the Lord says— he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you.”
Isaiah 44:2 NIV
This is not fate. This is intelligent and divine design. You are alive because of God and he holds your life in the palm of his hands. He intends a life of purpose for you.
It’s all for purpose.
You are custom made. I love surfing and there is no better feeling that getting a custom made board. It’s easy to turn up at surf shop and buy a board off the rack but a custom surfboard is tailor made, specific, unique, special, right down to the finest details. You are custom made.
God knew what he was doing when he made you.
“Though there may be illegitimate parents there are no illegitimate children.”
Rick Warren
God has motive in his creation. His motive is love. God is love and we are the focus of his love. We are highly valued by him.
God doesn’t do accidents.
Taking an excerpt from The Purpose Drive life it reads “Dr Michael Denton (senior research fellow in human molecular genetics at the University of Otago in New Zealand) has concluded, “All the evidence available in the biological sciences supports the core proposition … that the cosmos is a specially designed whole with life and mankind as it’s fundamental goal and purpose, a whole in which all facets of reality have their meaning and explanation in this central fact.”
Why would God do all of this? Why create an environment exclusively for life and humanity?
Because love. We are the object of his love.
If there was no God then there would be no meaning and pursuit of purpose would be without value. There would be no right or wrong, no hope, no compass from which to navigate life. These 40 days would be futile.
But there is a God and he made us for a reason. We discover this reason by starting with God and having him as central in our pursuit.
“The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.”
Romans 12:3 MSG
